Houserules & information for during your stay

Thank you for choosing us!

We are delighted to offer everyone a “home away from home” and will welcome our guests with open arms. On this page, you’ll find useful information and some rules to ensure a pleasant stay at Summer Village for everyone.

About Summer Village

The name Summer Village was chosen when we took over the Prikichi Residence resort. We intentionally chose the word Village because we aim to be a small village within Kralendijk where you feel welcome and everyone respects each other. Our courtyard with a pool and pool bar is the meeting place for anyone who desires the company.

Accommodation

The apartments and studios are equipped with basic amenities, including kitchen essentials. If you find something essential missing, please let us know.

Damages caused using tape or adhesive strips on walls and/ or doors will be charged to the resident, and the repair costs will be deducted from the deposit.

Water

The tap water is excellent for drinking. You can purchase thermos drinking bottles at the pool bar, keeping the water super cold when you’re on the go. You can refill these bottles for free at many locations on the island.

During the poolbar opening hours, we are available for our guests. Besides being a nice spot for food and drinks, you can also find us at the poolbar for any reception-related questions or comments.

Quiet hours

Between 10:00 PM and 07:00 AM, the resort needs to be quiet. The gates are closed, and the park is only accessible to guests with a key. The use of common areas, such as the reception and pool bar, is not allowed after 10:00 PM.

Pool

We have a lovely pool on the park accessible to all guests between 07:00 AM and 10:00 PM. Please shower before entering the pool to prevent it from turning green, ensuring everyone can enjoy it.

Smoking and/ or consuming drinks IN the pool or ON the pool edge are NOT allowed. The use of personal music speakers is also NOT allowed at the pool. If sunbeds or chairs are moved, please return them after use.

NOTE: There is no lifeguard on duty; use the pool at your own risk!

Visitors

You aren’t allowed to have more than 3 visitors in or near your accommodation. Visitors must adhere to the following rules:

  • They must leave the park before 10:00 PM;
  • If visitors want to use the pool, they need to pay $ 5,- including one softdrink or beer;
  • Bringing personal drinks to the pool or pool bar is not allowed for visitors.

Do you have visitors from another (is)land than Bonaire, wanting to stay overnight? This is possible! They must pay accommodation costs, including the use of Summer Village facilities:

  • $ 10,- per night for staying with the tenant in the same bed (not possible in a single studio);
  • $ 15,- per night for an extra bed with bedding.

Overnight guests must be registered by Summer Village, including guest details. Own (air)beds are not allowed.

Smoking and drugs

Smoking is allowed in the public areas and outdoor spaces of the accommodations. Ashtrays are available at the pool and reception. If there is no ashtray at your accommodation, please request one from us!

Smoking inside the accommodations is strictly prohibited. If this is done, we will retain the entire deposit.

The use of drugs (in any form, including soft drugs) is prohibited on the park. If done by you or your guests, we have the right to remove you from the park and your deposit will not be refunded.

Maintenance

Please handle our belongings with care. In case of intentional vandalism, the costs will be deducted from your deposit and/ or billed to you. If you come across something broken or not functioning well in your accommodation, let us know as soon as possible! Waiting to do so could make the problems worse. We will do everything to fix the issues promptly.

NOTE! If defects are not reported in a timely manner, any associated costs will be at your own expense.

Cleaning and waste

We expect you to keep your accommodation clean regularly. We provide a vacuum cleaner and mop for this purpose, located in the storage room with the washing machine.

Keep in mind that Bonaire has a warm climate and pests can quickly find their way to less hygienic spaces. Always store food in the refrigerator, even items you wouldn’t refrigerate in the Netherlands. Also, regularly change your trash bag. It’s wise to check your refrigerator on Monday evening and dispose of the garbage in the green bins at the park exits. On Tuesday morning, the garbage truck collects everything.

TIP! Never throw (raw) meat/ fish directly into the trash. Put it in a bag in your freezer first and throw it away in the bins on Monday evening.

Waste separation is not fully implemented on Bonaire. However, we have bins for cans and PET bottles at the bar and in front of the reception.

Always throw waste in a trash bag and not directly into the bin, glass and other waste can go together in the trash bag. The bins to throw your trash bag into are located at all park exits. Always tie your trash bag securely before throwing it into the bin!

Washing machine

There is a communal washing machine on the park. You can buy tokens for the washing machine at the pool bar. The cost is $ 5,- for one wash and takes about 30 minutes. Please remove the laundry from the machine as soon as possible, so the next person can use it. There are clotheslines next to the laundry room.

NOTE! Due to fire safety, it is not allowed to set up your own clotheslines near the accommodations. Please use the existing lines.

TIP! Make sure you always have enough tokens in stock so you can also do laundry outside the bar’s opening hours!

Transportation

Park your car, scooter, or bike in the designated areas. Along the park, we have several parking spaces for cars and scooters. Parking scooters indoors is not allowed.

PLEASE NOTE! Never park your scooter or bike in the parking spaces meant for cars to prevent them from being hit, and because we already have limited parking spots for cars!

Printer

It is possible to print on the park (for a fee). If you need a printout, come by during the bar’s opening hours or send us a message. We charge the following prices:

Black and white           $0.25 per page

Color                            $0.50 per page

Diveschool Scuba Elite

Our park is home to the best dive school on Bonaire. Occasionally, they may be using the swimming pool for some exercises between 8:00 and 10:00 AM.

Dogs

You may encounter our dogs on the park. They are all super sweet and curious. We ask you not to feed them due to allergies.

Accessibility

Do you have questions and/ or comments? We are always available at the pool bar during opening hours.

We’re also reachable by phone at +599 796 5720 or via WhatsApp. In case of an emergency, we are available 24/7.
