STINAPA Nature Fee

Because the waters and reefs of Bonaire are a protected, you have to pay a Nature Fee to be allowed to use the sea. This applies to all water sports, including swimming and snorkeling, or when you go on a boat. These are one-time costs of $40,- per person.

Washington Slagbaai National Park is also a protected nature reserve. Once you have paid for the Nature Fee, you can enter the National Park free of charge when showing the received QR-code in combination with your identification!

There are regular checks on and around the water by STINAPA (Bonaire National Parks Foundation), for example if you are sailing or swimming. If you cannot prove that you have paid the Nature Fee during a check, you can risk a fine. So make sure you arrange this in advance and that you have a screenshot or photo of the QR-code in your phone! You can apply via the following link: https://stinapa.bonairenaturefee.org.

Do you have your sedula, or are you a resident of one of the other 5 islands that previously belonged to the Netherlands Antilles? Then you do not have to pay the Nature Fee and you can enter the National Park for free with presentation of your identification. Children under the age of 12 are exempt from the Nature Fee.

Have you paid the nature fee, but didn’t receive a confirmation or QR-code in your mail? Send an e-mail to info@stinapa.org containing your full name and date of birth, they will then send you the confirmation again.

Attention! The QR-code of the Nature Fee is always valid for a calendar year, so from January 1st to December 31st, with an extension of approximately 2 weeks.
